World Record
On September 7, 2019, the town of Newport, New Hampshire, set the Guinness World Record for the most people making flower bouquets simultaneously. A total of 339 people participated in the event, which was held at the Newport Sunflower Festival.
Prior to the attempt, residents of Newport were sent packets of sunflower seeds and encouraged to grow sunflowers in their yards. Many residents brought their own sunflowers to use in the bouquets created, and every bouquet had one sunflower.
The event was carefully monitored by Guinness World Records officials, who ensured that all of the participants were following the rules and that the bouquets were being made properly. Once all of the bouquets were completed, the officials counted them and confirmed that a new world record had been set.
The Newport Sunflower Festival is a popular annual event that celebrates the town's agricultural heritage. The festival features a variety of activities, including hayrides, corn mazes, and live music. The sunflower field is also a popular attraction, and visitors are encouraged to pick their own flowers.
The world record-breaking bouquet-making event was a great way to promote the Newport Sunflower Festival and to celebrate the town's love of flowers. It was also a fun and unique way for the community to come together.
